On this day...Betty Boop - Animation

Did you know that Betty Boop was the very first fully animated human character to appear in cartoons? Not only was she the first human, but was she was very much 'female'. Her debut in "Dizzy Dishes" on 9th August, 1930 was groundbreaking at the time because until then, the only other animated characters were animals.

It was during the rise of the cinematographic industry (between 1895 and 1920) that animation really came to life, following the invention of the Cinematograph (a camera-projector),in 1895, which was patented by Louis and Auguste Lumiére. Then, in 1914, came Winsor McCay's "Gertie the Dinosaur"which was the first 'key frame' animated female character. Then 14 years later, we saw the introduction of Minnie Mouse who was brought to life in 1928 by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney.

Since those early days of hand drawing, animation has grown massively. From the beginning of the millennium, 2D and 3D computer animation has risen in popularity and is used by businesses and organisations throughout the world.

Animated Video is a FAST growing way that businesses use to market their brand. It's a way to really stand out.
